Colorado Bass, Guadalupe Trout!
As of late, the cold fronts have been more frequent, and the bass fishing has been fair to good. On the Sunny, post front days, I have been having the most success with small olive crawfish patterns, stripped in slow. Fish are tight to brush piles or off the banks in deeper water towards the middle of the river. Although you may have to work for them at times, this is the time of year where you will have more opportunities at large fish.
The Guadalupe river has been fishing excellent. Flows are up by a touch, which provided the right amount of cover in those shallow areas that were not holding fish. Now allowing fish to move in there. A lot of fish up shallow and we are able to sight cast to them from the raft. Its been some exciting fishing lately and consistently landing large fish daily. If you were ever questions on when to book a trip on the Guadalupe, now is your time to do it!
