Guided Saltwater Trips

The majority of our trips will be run out of Rockport, Texas. However, dependent on various situations and/or time of year—we may fish as far south as Aransas Pass or even the Upper laguna madre upon request. Port O’ Connor is also an option I will offer up just 45 minutes North of Rockport, when conditions are right and you want to primarily fish the gulf for jacks, bull reds, potentially Cobia and occasionally tarpon.

Primarily, we will be sight casting for redfish in shallow water with random shots at Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder & Sheepshead. Starting in late spring to the fall (May-October) we will have opportunities at Bull Reds and Jack Crevalle in the gulf. All trips will be ran out of my 2025 Hells Bay Waterman skiff. Accommodates up to 2 anglers and myself.

Half day (1 or 2 people)- $600

Full day (1 or 2 people)- $800

Tackle & Equipment:

We encourage you to use our gear, but if you would prefer to use your own:

  • 7-8 wt fly rod with floating line

    • 7-8 wt rod with floating line is ideal, but could get away with a 6wt with slicked out conditions and a 9wt may even be more comfortable to you in windier conditions.

    • On occasion a larger setup (10-12 wt) may be needed for Bull Reds or Jack Crevalle. That will be discussed via prior to the trip.

  • Flies

    • I use hand-tied flies specifically based on the depth and clarity of the water for the given day.

    • but if you want to tie or bring your own , variations of the Clouser Minnow, Tarpon Toad, Borski Sliders, Seaducers, Kwan, Crimp, & Gurglers in different sizes (2,4,6) and colors (tan, white, purple, chartreuse, pink) are all great patterns to have in your box for a day on the coast.

OTHER ADDITIONAL ITEMS:

  • Polarized sunglasses

  • Fishing License

  • Hat

  • Sunscreen

  • Boat shoes, non-black soled shoes

  • Rain gear

  • Lunch on full days

You do not need wading boots since the majority of the fishing will be done out of the boat. If you prefer to do some wading please let me know prior to the trip. Flats sneakers with a wading sock or neoprene booties are recommended.
